Job summary

Fruitvale Healthcare Center in Oakland, CA is hiring an Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate and treat patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues. You will work within an interdisciplinary team to implement plans of care and promote safe, effective recovery.

Qualified candidates have a OT degree and California license; one year of clinical experience is preferred though new graduates are welcome.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/DS in Occupational Therapy required.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new grads welcome.
• Current California OT license required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans and administers OT treatment for neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Administers and interprets tests for strength, range of motion, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per plan of care; participates in interdisciplinary team.
• Provides adaptive tools and treatments; maintains patient records confidentiality.
• Conducts home assessments to ensure safe discharge.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Evaluates, plans and administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers and interprets tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Provides adaptive tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed!
• Current license to practice Therapy Occupational Therapy Issued by California.
