Job summary

Regions Hospital is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team as a 1.0 FTE. The role covers acute care units and inpatient rehab, with shifts from 7:00am–3:30pm (inpatient rehab) or 7:30am–4:00pm (acute), Monday–Friday and a shared weekend/holiday rotation.

Onboarding is two weeks with specialty training available and ongoing mentoring from a collaborative OT team. Preferred candidates have at least 1 year of relevant experience or new grads with hospital-based

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in relevant settings or newer grad with hospital-based fieldwork level II experience.
• Experience with evaluation and treatment in stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, and complex medical/trauma.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced/complex setting; strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy evaluation and treatment across Regions Hospital acute care units and inpatient rehab.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team to support patient care.
• Participate in shared OT department holiday rotation and onboarding with ongoing mentoring.

Regions Hospital has an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team.Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and families receive every day.

This 1.0 OT position will work in a variety of areas of Regions Hospital acute care units, based on volume and/or area of highest need. This includes all areas of our Level 1 Trauma hospital (ED/boarding, observation units, medical and neuro ICUs, med surg, neuro and trauma units as well as inpatient rehab). Eventual specialization/ability to work as a dedicated OT to one of these areas is likely.Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 1 year experience in relevant settings or newer grad with hospital-based fieldwork level II experience.Seeking candidates experienced with evaluation and treatment knowledge in the areas of stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, and complex medical/trauma. We work collaboratively as a treatment team, so strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in a fast pace/complex setting, and strong verbal and written communication skills are needed.

This is a 1.0 FTE position, working Monday through Friday, with an every-fourth-weekend requirement and a shared OT department holiday rotation.

• Inpatient Rehab shifts 7:00am-3:30pm
• Acute shifts 7:30-4:00pm

This position may have a mix of these start/end times

Annual education money is provided to all FTE staff along with a Medbridge subscription to support creation of home education programs for patients and to provide a portal for high-quality continuing education. We also intermittently offer department or org-level professional development to help foster continuous learning and care improvement.

We offer two weeks of onboarding into the role with additional specialty training (e.g., ICU) based on experience/need. We have a collaborative OT team that offers ongoing informal mentoring and support. We have approximately 17 OTs working each day at Regions (M-F).
