Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) for Outpatient Rehabilitation at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. This PRN role offers days with Monday-Thursday 7:30 am–6 pm and Friday 7:30 am–3:30 pm, in a collaborative outpatient setting.

You will evaluate, treat, and develop individualized plans to improve function and independence. Ideal candidates hold a OT degree, current state license, BLS, and NBCOT/AOTA/OTAC credentials, with a focus on

Qualifications

  • Must have graduate degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Active state OT license or certification.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate required.
  • NBCOT certification (AOTA/OTAC) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients in an outpatient setting to improve functional mobility and independence.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for medically complex patients.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support discharge planning and continuity of care.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive strategies and equipment use.
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge recommendations in the EMR.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
Current state Occupational Therapy license/certification

Department: Outpatient Rehabilitation- Occupational Therapy


Employment Type: Per Diem ( PRN)


Shifts Available: Days, Variable Shifts


Hours: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 am to 6 pm


and Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm


Location: Providence Medical Center- Kansas City, KS


Join our Outpatient Rehabilitation Team and make a meaningful impact through patient-centered care. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide comprehensive evaluations and individualized treatment plans that help patients improve function, maximize independence, and achieve their rehabilitation goals.


In this role, you will provide one-on-one therapy in a collaborative outpatient setting, treating patients with orthopedic, musculoskeletal, neurological, lymphedema, and pelvic health conditions. The ideal candidate is dedicated to evidence-based practice, functional outcomes, and exceptional patient care while partnering with physicians, rehabilitation specialists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding results.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):



  • Evaluate and treat patients in an acute hospital setting to improve functional mobility, ADLs, safety, and independence

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for medically complex adult and geriatric patients

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support safe and timely discharge planning

  • Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive strategies and equipment use

  • Document evaluations, progress, and discharge recommendations in the electronic medical record


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy

  • Current state Occupational Therapy certification/license

  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate
