Job summary

Achieve Beyond in Suffolk, NY is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support children with special needs in home, school, and clinic settings. This role offers a flexible schedule and the chance to make a meaningful difference in families’ lives throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS OT license.
• 1-2 years experience with children birth-5 is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to travel to assigned cases and work in multiple settings (homes, schools, clinics).

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric therapy services and/or evaluations to children birth-21 in natural settings.
• Educate families/caregivers on intervention strategies for ongoing carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings (homes, daycare, preschools, clinics).
• Follow therapy plans and document progress for each child.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain confidential records per HIPAA guidelines.

Wage: Evaluations $130.00 - $250.00/hourly $60.00-$70.00

Job Responsibilities For a Occupational Therapist

• Provide pediatric therapy services and/or evaluations to children aged birth 21 years in a natural setting.
• Educate families and caregivers on applicable intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as client homes, daycare homes/centers, preschools, clinics, and other community settings.
• Follow the unique therapy plan established for a family/child, plan for ongoing treatment and address identified goals while documenting progress.
• Prepare progress reports as indicated.
• Maintain child records and confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA, state and federal regulations). Required records must be submitted within the established timelines.

Requirements For a Occupational Therapist

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• NYS Licensed Occupational Therapist
• 1-2 years of experience working with children birth5 is preferred but not necessary
• Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to:
• Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

Starting Rate

Evaluations $130.00 - $250.00/hourly $60.00-$70.00

Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during the Occupational Therapist Job interview process.
