Job summary

The Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our outpatient neurology team, with duties split between Golden Valley and Coon Rapids.

You will perform OT evaluations, develop and implement comprehensive treatments, and coordinate with neurologists and therapists while ensuring timely notes and billing. The role includes strong collaboration and adherence to safety and privacy guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Minnesota.
• Registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
• Minimum of two years of experience practicing as an OT in an outpatient setting with a focus on neurological conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT evaluations and develop comprehensive OT treatments.
• Communicate with physicians and other professionals as appropriate.
• Complete daily notes, discharge summaries, and interim progress notes; ensure accurate coding and billing.
• Adhere to patient safety, privacy, and regulatory requirements; identify red flags.

Description

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and independent Occupational Therapist to join our established outpatient neurology clinic. This position offers a unique opportunity to practice within a specialized neurology setting while collaborating closely with neurologists and a talented team of occupational and physical therapists across our five clinic locations.

This position is 32–40 hours per week, with time split between our Golden Valley and Coon Rapids locations. We offer a comprehensive benefits package to include a generous CE allowance, paid time off, 401(K) with employer match,health insurance, dental insurance, and more.

Provide thorough occupational therapy evaluations. Establish and carry out comprehensive OT treatments. Communicate with physicians or other professionals as appropriate.

• Adhere to rules & regulations regarding patient safety and privacy. Identify “red flags” and appropriately manage patients presenting with health concerns beyond the scope of OT.
• Provide high quality, comprehensive therapy, and customer service, including the development of maintenance therapy planning for appropriate patients.
• Provide efficient patient scheduling and services and assist in achieving team financial and patient/customer service goals.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with physicians and other professionals.

Complete daily notes of treatments, initial and discharge summaries, and interim progress notes. Complete coding and billing in an accurate, thorough, timely manner.

• Adhere to rules & regulations regarding patient privacy and security.
• Adhere to all State, Federal, Medicare, Clinic and insurance-specific billing and coding regulations and policies.
• Adhere to all State, Federal, Medicare, Clinic and insurance-specific documentation regulations and guidelines.
• Provide timely, meaningful therapy progress to referring physicians, including the use of Rehab Updates as appropriate.

Perform miscellaneous departmental duties as requested or assigned.

• Assess equipment/facility routinely for safely and functional efficiency.
• Assist with in-service training, program development and activities related to marketing and program expansion.
• Promote teamwork among all operating sites and between Clinic departments.
• Understand, adhere to, and assist with improvements of policies and procedures outlined in the Rehab Handbook and Emergency Operations Plan.
• Participate in practice improvements by implementing changes to procedures/workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement, and assisting with the delivery of compassionate and personalized patient care.
• Perform miscellaneous clerical and clinical duties.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Minnesota, Minnesota Department of Health.
• Registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
