CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to deliver essential therapy in an acute care hospital setting, under physician orders. You will assess functional abilities, plan individualized treatment, and support safe transitions of care.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, document per guidelines, supervise assistants as needed, and stay current with evidence-based practice to promote independence and safe outcomes for patients.

Qualifications

• Iowa Occupational Therapy Licence.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our PRN Occupational Therapist, you will provide essential occupational therapy services to patients in an acute care hospital setting under physician's orders. Your role involves evaluating patients' functional abilities, identifying barriers to independence, and implementing individualized treatment plans to support recovery and safe transitions of care.

Every day you will assess patients' functional needs, mobility, activities of daily living, and overall ability to safely participate in daily activities, then develop, plan, and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment interventions.

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong assessment, treatment planning, and implementation skills in an acute care environment. Excellent communication, patient and family education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a commitment to promoting independence, safety, and optimal functional outcomes are essential.

• Provides occupational therapy assessment, care planning, patient treatment, and education according to professional practice guidelines defined by state and professional sources.
• Works as a collaborative member of the interdisciplinary care team to develop a coordinated plan of care that supports achievement of established functional goals and safe discharge planning.
• Is knowledgeable and completes all required documentation and billing requirements according to established local, state, and federal regulations.
• Is responsible for the knowledge and application of measurable quality metrics associated with the area of active practice. Periodically attends team meetings to discuss and improve program evaluation and quality measures.
• Provides supervision to occupational therapy assistants and techs according to established local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Maintains current knowledge of evidence-based occupational therapy practices and emerging research and serves as a professional resource to other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

Pay Range

$47.50 - $47.50 /hour
