Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking an Occupational Therapist to implement prescribed therapy programs aimed at improving function and independence for patients with physical or developmental challenges. You will deliver goal-directed activities to optimize outcomes and promote health across care settings.

Applicants should hold an AOTA-accredited OT degree, current state licensure, and BLS certification; one year of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist program.
  • Current state OT license and BLS certification; driver license if home care.
  • Minimum 1 year of hospital/rehabilitation/home care/outpatient OT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and conducts prescribed skilled occupational therapy programs.
  • Applies purposeful, goal-directed activity to improve function and health.
  • Supports patients through treatment plans to optimize independence and wellbeing.

Summary

The Occupational Therapist role organizes and conducts prescribed skilled occupational therapy programs through the application of purposeful, goal-directed activity in the treatment of persons whose function is impaired by physical illness or injury, emotional disorder, congenital or developmental disability or the aging process to achieve the optimum functioning, to prevent disability, and to maintain health.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist program required.
  • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as an Occupational Therapist required or in compliance with the state practice act. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care will require current valid Driver's License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.
  • Experience: One year of experience working in a hospital, long-term care, home, school system or outpatient Occupational Therapy department preferred.

The pay range for this position is $37.09 to $50.17 per hour.
