Job summary

George’s Inc. is seeking an Occupational Maintenance Technician to repair and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment in the facility and to perform preventative maintenance on all equipment in the assigned area.

The ideal candidate will read technical manuals and blueprints, have basic welding experience, and be proficient with common hand, power, and industrial tools. A high school diploma and at least 2 years of maintenance experience, plus a valid driver's license, are

• Respond to plant emergencies per supervision.

Job description

SUMMARY

The Occupational Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment used in the facility, and for performing preventative maintenance tasks on all equipment in the assigned area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance in assigned area.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment used in the facility.
• Perform repairs and equipment installation/removal in an efficient manner.
• Maintain good housekeeping at workstations and work areas.
• Respond to plant emergencies including Haz‑Mat incidents, equipment malfunction, fires, severe weather, etc. as directed by supervision.
• Lock out / tag out certification.
• Complete daily maintenance paperwork for assigned work orders/requests and checklists.
• Special projects/duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor or manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in machine maintenance, building maintenance, preventative maintenance, carpentry, electrical, heating and cooling systems, plumbing and/or electrical.
• Basic welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Have or obtain tools needed to perform the above tasks.
• Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools.
• Valid Driver’s License.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics.
