Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to deliver preventive health care and manage a comprehensive program for associates. The role includes administering vaccines, first aid, and wellness activities while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure safe return-to-work and compliant health practices.

You will document data in OHM, support case management, and contribute to safety programs and pre-employment screenings.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or comparable experience required; BSN preferred.
• 3-4 years nursing experience required; 1-2 years occupational health preferred.
• RN license in MD or DC; COHN preferred; CPR within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care and preventive health information through a comprehensive program.
• Documents data into the associate electronic medical record (OHM) and other databases.
• Collaborates with NP/PA and providers to monitor case management and referrals.
• Develops wellness programs to improve associate health and work-life balance.
• Implements health compliance programs including vaccination requirements.
• Manages safety, injury prevention, and exposure follow-up as needed.
• Performs pre-employment physicals and screening with counseling on findings.

Education
