The City of Long Beach is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant for the Risk and Occupational Health Services Bureau. You will work at the Airport Plaza clinic, performing medical evaluations, pre-employment physicals, and clinical duties under the Occupational Health HR Officer.

Required CA PA license and BLS, with 2 years in primary care or public health; supervisory experience preferred. This is an unclassified at-will position with strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and service.

Qualifications

• Valid State of California license as a Physician Assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers card.
• Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or closely related field.
• Experience in primary care or public health is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate and provide medical treatment of work-related illnesses and injuries.
• Perform post-offer/pre-employment physicals for applicants.
• Chart patient transactions per policies and procedures.
• Obtain detailed medical histories and perform physical examinations.
• Provide written prescription transmittal orders and manage pharmaceutical indications and safety.
• Annual monitoring based on State and Federal requirements.
• Author policies and protocols as needed.
• Perform other related clinical services as required.
