Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY is seeking a Staff Nurse in Occupational Health Services to provide comprehensive clinical care and regulatory support for a large healthcare workforce. You will manage employee clearances, exposures, and compliance workflows in a high-volume setting.

The role requires a BSN, NY RN license, and BLS, with 5+ years of RN experience and occupational health exposure. On-site, fast-paced environment with emphasis on confidentiality and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Active NYS RN license with current registration.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical RN experience.
• Prior experience in Occupational Health/Employee Health, Emergency Department, and/or outpatient Primary Care.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to manage sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct post-offer pre-placement (POPP) evaluations, annual assessments, and periodic medical surveillance per regulatory requirements.
• Support return-to-work (RTW) and fitness-for-duty (FFD) processes, including documentation and coordination with providers.
• Perform respirator fit testing and vision screening in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Administer immunizations and medications per protocol; document and educate patients.
• Triage and manage work-related injuries and exposures; ensure timely evaluation and follow-up.
• Maintain compliant documentation in EPIC and Cority.
• Monitor vaccine and pharmaceutical inventory; ensure proper storage and handling.
• Ensure clinical equipment is maintained and calibrated.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, operations leadership, and HR to support clearance and accommodations workflows.
• Participate in health education and prevention initiatives.
