Job summary

Planet Pharma is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to work onsite in Holly Springs, NC. The nurse will maintain staff health, safety, and productivity and collaborate with the OH team.

Requirements include an active NC RN license, 3–5 years of clinical experience (OH preferred), COHN-S and Audiometry/Spirometry certifications are advantageous, with CPR/BLS required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform RN level assessment and medical management of work-related injury/illness
• Facilitate return-to-work and workers' compensation programs
• Perform medical surveillance exams
• Assist with international travel health consultations
• Perform phlebotomy, immunizations, CLIA waived testing, and TB screening
• Assist with OH supply management
• Respond to site medical emergencies and support disaster preparedness
• Ensure OH compliance with State, Federal, OSHA, and workers' compensation regs
• Comply with ethical, legal, professional requirements and policies
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, patients, and OH partners

Target PR Range: 40-50/hr DOE

Position description: The purpose of the occupational health nurse is to maintain the health, safety, and productivity of staff by providing superior clinical services. The incumbent will possess an active registered nurse license and work onsite in close collaboration with the occupational health team. Experience in occupational health (OH), emergency room, or public health is preferred.

Job duties, under general direction:

• Perform RN level assessment and medical management of work related injury/illness
• Facilitate return to work and workers compensation programs
• Perform medical surveillance exams
• Assist with international travel health consultations
• Perform phlebotomy, administer immunizations, CLIA waived testing (i.e. glucometer), and TB screening tests
• Assist with OH supply management
• Respond to site medical emergencies and support disaster preparedness activities
• Ensure OH compliance with State, Federal, OSHA, and workers compensation compliance regulations as applicable
• Comply with ethical, legal, professional requirements, corporate policies and procedures
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients, and OH partners

Position requirements

• Active registered nurse license in the state of North Carolina
• 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience. Occupational and Environmental Health experience, emergency room or public health strongly preferred
• COHN-S certification-strongly preferred
• Bachelors of Nursing degree-preferred
• Audiometry and Spirometry Certification preferred
• CPR/BLS Certification

Knowledge & skill requirements

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to organize and rapidly prioritize responsibilities in response to clinical need and staff population
• Knowledge of OH and safety principles to establishing and maintaining a safe work environment
• Experience with North Carolinas workers compensation regulations and claim filing, case management, OSHA regulations, and maintaining OSHA records

• Computer literacy in Microsoft office suite and competency with using electronic medical records systems
