Job summary

Related Affordable is seeking a Recertification and Occupancy Specialist at an affordable housing community in Cambridge, Maryland. You will manage certifications, rent calculations, verifications, and ensure compliance with HUD guidelines, delivering a resident-centered experience.

Ideal candidates have experience with high-volume recertifications; notary/public credentials are a plus, and bilingual Spanish abilities are welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience processing high-volume HUD Project Based Section 8 and/or LIHTC recertifications (required).
• Notary public is a plus.
• COS/TCS/BOS credentials are a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Schedule: Monday – Friday 8AM-5PM.

Responsibilities

• Process certifications (initial, interim, and annual) and calculate retroactive rent per HUD guidelines.
• Collect necessary documentation from residents and process verifications.
• Apply correct rents for recertifications and adjust to stay compliant.
• Review and finalize HUD 50059 forms.
• Prepare rent repayment agreements and explain rent calculations to residents per HUD guidelines.
• Review EIV reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Create welcoming resident experiences and maintain community sense.
• Support site and office operations as assigned by manager.

If so, we are looking for you to join our team as a Recertification and Occupancy Specialist at an affordable housing community in Cambridge, Maryland.

• Utilize your organizational skills and experience to provide the preeminent affordable housing accommodations in your community.
• Through your daily interactions with prospective and current residents, you’ll create a welcoming experience and sense of community.
• Process certifications (including initial, interim, and annual); calculate retroactive rent while conforming to all applicable guidelines.
• Collect necessary documentation from current or prospective residents, and process verifications.
• Apply correct rents for annual and interim recertification; adjust to remain compliant.
• Review and finalize HUD 50059 forms.
• Prepare rent repayment agreements and explain rent calculations to residents according to HUD guidelines.
• Review EIV reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Organized and Detail‑Oriented: Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while efficiently managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Self‑Sufficient and Adaptable: Complete tasks from start to finish with minimal supervision, thriving in a busy, high‑volume environment.
• Effective Time Management: Prioritize and manage time to consistently meet deadlines and exceed expectations.
• Support site and office operations as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

• Real Page One Site experience is a plus.
• Notary public is a plus.
• You have COS/TCS/BOS credentials is a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Schedule: Monday – Friday 8AM-5PM.
