Qualifications

Hourly pay: $16.00 per hour. Full time / Part time.

Job Summary

Under immediate supervision, the Election Services Technician assists in election preparation pertaining to the voting devices and performs Election Day service calls to ensure that each Tulsa County polling location can maintain required operations. Duties include preparing voting devices, providing technical assistance, troubleshooting issues, opening and closing polling locations, making service calls, crowd control, and visiting locations throughout the assigned route.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare each voting device for use on Election Day to accept ballots.
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshoot voting device issues.
  • Help open and close a polling location.
  • Make service calls to polling locations to deliver critical paperwork and/or technical assistance.
  • Crowd control and guard the machines during Early Voting.
  • Visit each polling location within the assigned route at least once, preferably twice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and abilities required.

  • Skill in: driving in all weather conditions, effectively navigating Tulsa County, and using a GPS device.
  • Knowledge of Tulsa County streets.
  • Ability to work long hours on Election Days and navigate the region efficiently.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
  • Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
  • Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus one to three months related experience and/or training. Valid Oklahoma driver’s license.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to communicate, convey, and express oneself, exchange information. Frequently required to assume a stationary position; move or transverse; operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, detect, position; reach with hands and arms; position self; move; and detect, perceive, identify, recognize, observe, inspect, assess. Occasionally required to ascend/descend and traverse. Must regularly transport, move, position, put, install up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include color vision.

Work Environment

Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Noise level usually moderate.
