Job summary

Providence Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, WA seeks a Surgical Technologist to support obstetric surgical cases and Birth Center operations in the Operating Room. You will prepare and care for pregnant patients undergoing cesarean sections and related procedures while performing Birth Center tasks to maintain smooth patient flow.

This part-time, night-shift position requires WA Surgical Technologist Registration and BLS at hire.

Qualifications

• Surgical technologist registration required at hire.
• Current BLS certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and care of pregnant surgical patients undergoing cesarean sections and related procedures in the Operating Room.
• Perform technical tasks related to the Birth Center function and flow of patients.
• Assist in patient care as assigned.
• Perform quality infant hearing screening as needed.
• Perform routine and delegated duties according to departmental policies and provide clerical/receptionist support as needed.

Job description

Under the direction of the Unit Manager or designee, assists in preparation and care of pregnant surgical patients requiring cesarean section and related procedures in the Operating Room; Performs a variety of technical tasks related to the function of the Birth Center; Assists in patient care as assigned; Performs quality infant hearing screening as needed and performs routine and delegated duties according to departmental policies; and performs a variety of other related clerical and receptionist duties to assist in the flow of patients.

Shift Details: Part-time, 24 hours weekly, Variable (Night) shift

Required Qualifications:

• Upon hire: Washington Surgical Technologist Registration
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program, or
• Coursework/Training: Formal training in military.
• Upon hire: National Certification as a Surgical Technician, Obstetric Technician, or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
• Surgical Technician, Obstetric Technician or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).
