Job description

Step into a high-impact leadership opportunity as an Obstetrics RN Nurse Manager guiding a high-volume Labor and Delivery program where complex maternal care, clinical excellence, and compassionate leadership come together in one of the Pacific Northwest’s most dynamic healthcare markets.

The Obstetrics RN Nurse Manager will join a nationally recognized healthcare environment serving a diverse patient population and a wide range of complex obstetric needs. This organization is deeply committed to patient-centered care, interdisciplinary collaboration, health equity, and professional nursing practice, while providing clinicians with exposure to high-acuity cases and opportunities to grow alongside experienced physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, educators, and clinical specialists.

The Obstetrics RN Nurse Manager will oversee a robust Labor and Delivery, OB Emergency Department, Birth Center, and Perinatal Services environment featuring approximately 25 labor beds and approximately 550–600 births each month. The program cares for patients beginning as early as 22–23 weeks gestation and is supported by a Level IV NICU with Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Midwifery, OB, and Family Medicine providers. Around-the-clock anesthesia, laborist, and neonatology services further support this sophisticated maternal-child health program.

Reporting directly to the Senior L&D Manager, the Obstetrics RN Nurse Manager will work closely with the senior manager and clinical supervisor to provide collaborative leadership across the department. This role will share responsibility for quality outcomes, financial performance, staffing, patient experience, and caregiver engagement while ensuring safe, evidence-based care around the clock. The manager will coach and develop nurses across all shifts, participate in staffing and recruitment, support retention initiatives, monitor patient-care standards, address performance concerns, and collaborate with the CNS and Perinatal Educator on education and evidence-based practice. The position also plays an important role in quality improvement, including continued focus on NTSV metrics, and will help sustain initiatives such as TEAMBirth, Doula, and Cultural Navigator programs. The team is described as collaborative and engaged, with friendly nurses and a diverse group of healthcare professionals working together across Labor and Delivery and Women & Children’s leadership.

For the Obstetrics RN Nurse Manager, the Greater Puget Sound region offers an unusually broad combination of career opportunity, urban amenities, and access to nature. Seattle provides an extensive arts, music, restaurant, sports, and cultural scene while maintaining easy access to Puget Sound, mountains, forests, beaches, hiking, biking, paddling, skiing, and year-round outdoor recreation. The region is also home to major professional sports, vibrant neighborhood communities, numerous parks, higher-education institutions, and a highly educated workforce. Seattle’s neighborhoods range from dense, walkable urban districts to quieter residential communities, giving healthcare professionals a wide variety of lifestyle and housing options.

Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package make this Obstetrics RN Nurse Manager opportunity an exciting next step for an experienced Labor and Delivery leader. Benefits include a full suite of health and retirement programs along with opportunities for professional growth within a sophisticated maternal-child health environment.
