Authentic Staffing Agency is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Labor & Delivery for a leading medical center in Seattle, Washington. This leadership opportunity oversees clinical and operational activities within a high-volume Labor & Delivery department and works collaboratively with nursing, OB, MFM, midwifery, neonatal, and other multidisciplinary teams.
About the Department:
- 30 Labor & Delivery beds
- 9-bed OB Emergency Department
- 4 OB Operating Rooms
- Approximately 550–600 births per month
- Deliveries beginning as early as 22–23 weeks gestation
- Level IV NICU with 77 beds
- 24/7 anesthesia, laborist, and neonatology services
- Multidisciplinary Women & Children’s leadership environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and management for Labor & Delivery operations.
- Ensure safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with regulatory and professional standards.
- Lead staffing, scheduling, retention, performance management, and staff development.
- Monitor quality metrics and implement unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with CNS, educators, physicians, midwives, and multidisciplinary teams on evidence-based practice.
- Support recruitment and hiring of experienced RNs, travellers, and residency/fellowship candidates.
- Promote an inclusive, collaborative culture focused on patient and caregiver experience.
- Maintain clinical competence and provide coaching and support to nursing staff.
Required Qualifications:
- BSN from an accredited nursing program OR ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within 2 years of hire.
- Active Washington RN license upon hire.
- BLS from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
- Leadership/management experience in Labor & Delivery strongly preferred/required for consideration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
- At least 1 year of first-line nursing management experience.
- $98,806 – $175,000 annual base salary
