Job summary

McDonough District Hospital is seeking an OB/GYN to join a dedicated team providing full-scope women’s health care. The practice includes two OB/GYNs, one nurse practitioner, and one certified nurse midwife, with a Level II Nursery and an Advanced Women’s Center featuring LDR suites.

On-site surgical team, 24-hour anesthesia support, and collaborative care with CNMs, pediatricians, and advanced providers support high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• OB/GYN residency training (minimum five years surgical training).
• Board eligible or board certified in OB/GYN.
• Eligible for unrestricted Illinois medical license.
• Current DEA registration.
• ACLS certification.
• CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• NRP certification (required within 6 months if not current).
• Proof of approved Fetal Monitoring Course attendance every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-spectrum women’s healthcare services including exams and preventive care.
• Diagnose and treat gynecologic conditions and infections.
• Offer contraceptive counseling and fertility guidance.
• Provide prenatal and postnatal care.
• Deliver labor and delivery services and perform gynecologic procedures.
• Collaborate with clinic staff, MDH medical staff, and leadership to ensure high-quality care.

Schedule

• Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM


• Dedicated OR Block Time: Monday & Friday, 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM


• Shared call model supported by CNM

This structure allows for both surgical consistency and balanced call coverage.

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary range for this position is $300,000 - $500,000. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

Position Overview

As an OB/GYN at MDH, you will provide full‑spectrum women’s healthcare services, including:

• Annual wellness exams and preventive screenings


• Diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic conditions and infections


• Contraceptive counseling and fertility guidance


• Prenatal and postnatal care


• Labor and delivery services


• Gynecologic surgical procedures


• Evaluation, treatment, referral, or admission of patients as clinically appropriate

You will collaborate closely with clinic staff, MDH medical staff, and hospital leadership to ensure high‑quality, evidence‑based care.

• Completion of OB/GYN residency training (minimum five years surgical training)


• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
