Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan seeks an Obstetric Technician I for the Family Birthing Place. You will assist during labor and delivery, support mothers and babies, and help maintain clean, prepared rooms during night shifts.

Shifts are nights (7:00pm–7:30am) with a full-time schedule; required CNA and BLS certification, high school diploma, and 3 months’ related experience. You’ll join a dedicated team delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Three months of job-related experience and/or training.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides care and support to mothers and newborns as directed by the RN.
• Ensures that delivery and operating rooms are clean, sterile and stocked prior to deliveries, including sterilizing surgical instruments.
• Provides delivery assistance under the direction of the RN that may include coaching mother with breathing and pushing.
• May process, label and send specimens to the lab.
• Sets up, scrubs and supports members of the team during deliveries and caesarean sections.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
