Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Family Birthing Center to support the surgical team in the operating room. You will prepare rooms, maintain sterile fields, and assist during procedures with instrument handling and patient positioning.

The role requires completion of an accredited surgical technology program, a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology and anatomy.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Able to handle multiple requests and remain effective in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating rooms, ensuring equipment and supplies are disinfected and ready.
• Maintains sterile field throughout procedures.
• Assists during surgery by passing instruments and tracking items used.
• Positions patients and supports patient safety during procedures.
• Performs clerical duties and supports staff as needed.
• Delivers compassionate care to patients and families while complying with health regulations.
