Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Obstetric Technician to join our Labor and Delivery team. You will assist nurses, maintain sterile technique, stock supplies, and support surgeons during OB procedures including Cesarean sections.

A high school diploma or GED is required, and AHA BLS certification is needed or obtainable. One year of hospital PCT or OB tech experience is preferred, and we offer strong benefits and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) certification required or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assists and supports nursing staff with direct and indirect patient care according to the RN plan.
• Maintains sterile technique in the operative area and prepares instruments and supplies for OR and vaginal deliveries.
• Assists surgeons in procedures such as Cesarean section and other OB operations.
• Communicates patient information and changes in condition to the nurse and team.
• Ensures patient belongings are secured and transferred with the patient.
• Adheres to policies, participates in emergency/crisis situations, and supports overall patient safety.
