Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Night Shift Surgical Technician to support nursing staff in the OR, PACU, and labor rooms. You will maintain sterile technique, pass instruments, stock supplies, and assist surgeons during Cesarean sections and other procedures. This role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and patient safety.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, plus BLS; hospital PCT or OB/Surgical Tech experience preferred. Equal opportunity employer protections apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year hospital PCT experience preferred.
• OB Tech or Surgical Tech experience preferred.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists and supports nursing staff with direct and indirect patient care per RN plan.
• Orders and stocks supplies for OR, PACU, labor rooms and related areas.
• Maintains sterile technique and proper instrument handling in the OR.
• Assists surgeons in procedures such as Cesarean Section and Hysterectomy.
• Communicates patient information to nurse and responds to patient/family requests.
• Ensures patient belongings are secured and transferred with patient.
• Respects safety and ethical standards and participates in crisis situations as needed.
• Lifts and positions patients as required and ensures readiness of equipment.
