Job summary

Albany Medical College - Department of Anesthesiology is seeking fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty as we expand care for the obstetric population in the Capital Region. The program is housed within Albany Medical Center, a leading academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.

We welcome candidates with a strong commitment to clinical care, education, and research, and with fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent).
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology.
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABA.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for parturients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported and encouraged.
• Work closely with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses, and other perioperative team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support for trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.
