Job summary

Albany Medical College's Department of Anesthesiology seeks fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists at all ranks to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty team as we expand care for obstetric patients in the Capital Region. Our center is an academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.

We care for both healthy and high-risk parturients with opportunities to provide care outside the L&D suite, including interventional radiology and general OR obstetric cases.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent).
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesiology required.
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the ABA, or foreign equivalent recognized by ABAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for obstetric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents and medical students.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research; scholarly activity is supported.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, L&D nurses, and perioperative team to optimize outcomes.
• Mentor trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.
