Job summary

Albany Medical College's Department of Anesthesiology is seeking fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists at all ranks to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty as we expand care in the Capital Region. The position offers a collaborative, academically focused environment at the center's Level 1 trauma center, with exposure to high-risk obstetric patients, research, and resident education.

Candidates must have fellowship, be eligible for NY licensure, and be board-eligible or -certified by

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology required.
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (or foreign equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for obstetric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported.
• Work closely with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses, and perioperative team members to optimize outcomes.
• Provide mentorship and support for trainees and junior faculty.
