Job summary

The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO), managed by Associated Universities, Inc. (AUI), invites applications for a Janitor in the Engineering Services Division at the Very Large Array in New Mexico.

The role covers cleaning offices, restrooms, corridors, and may include security and groundskeeping tasks. Requires a high school diploma and at least 1 month of related experience; valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Requires strong communication and basic PC skills (email, word processing, data entry).
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.
• Must be able to operate and move equipment, lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and other work areas.
• Perform groundskeeping tasks and assist in security-related duties as needed.
• Record notes on property issues and safety concerns for supervision.
