Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Observation Unit on the Nights shift. This full-time role requires 36 hrs/week (0.9 FTE) and pays hourly between $34.50 and $55.20 in USD.

Qualifications include a BSN, an Illinois RN license, and BLS. Additional requirements for ER and pediatric ER include ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and TNCC within one year. The organization offers tuition reimbursement and lifecycle benefits.

Qualifications

• BSN required with Illinois RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• ADN acceptable if committed to obtaining BSN within 3 years of start date.
• ACLS/PALS/ENPC/TNCC within one year for ER-related roles.

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient status and care needs on admission or point of care entry.
• Organize health data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.
• Identify problems needing immediate attention and communicate with care team.
• Document diagnoses and plan of care to support outcomes.
• Initiate and update discharge plans in collaboration with patient and family.
• Provide patient/family education and ensure plan of care is understood.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team and schedule conferences as needed.
• Ensure nursing actions align with evidence-based care and standards.
