Job summary

VHC Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit to provide comprehensive nursing care to assigned patients. The role requires strong clinical judgment, collaboration with the care team, and adherence to hospital policies.

The RN must hold a Virginia nursing license or a valid compact-state license and BLS certification; ACLS/PALS may be required for specific units and can satisfy BLS requirements when applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Nursing required.
• One year of Nursing/Patient Care in an acute care setting required.
• Licensed RN by Virginia Department of Health Professions or Compact State Licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications may be required for certain units; active ACLS/PALS may substitute for BLS per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect total nursing care to assigned patients.
• Supervise assigned personnel.
• Follow departmental and hospital policies and procedures; communicate information clearly in written, verbal, and visual formats.
