Job summary

Nomura in Philadelphia is seeking an Observability SRE to join the Group Platform Services & Engineering team. You will administer and support the production environment, implement monitoring and observability, and help shape the future telemetry strategy across the Nomura group.

The position requires 3+ years IT experience, strong Grafana and Linux skills, and familiarity with Python/Ansible, CI/CD tools, incident management, and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Grafana or other observability tools in a medium/large enterprise.
• At least 2 years’ exposure to Linux OS with troubleshooting skills.
• Exposure to Python/Ansible.
• Production support experience including incident management, change and release management.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab/Jenkins/Ansible/Nexus.
• Team player.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Production environment and reliability of products/services.
• Build and maintain scalable monitoring and observability platforms.
• Lead incident management, root-cause analysis and RCA to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate changes and releases to production with proper governance.
• Collaborate with engineers to optimize operational efficiency and resilience.
• Mentor other SREs and promote best practices.
