Motion Recruitment in Columbus, OH is seeking a Monitoring Engineer to join a Dynatrace Observability team on a 1-year W2 contract. The role offers a hybrid schedule and extension or conversion based on performance.

The engineer will manage Dynatrace, OneAgent, and related tools, drive alert quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize monitoring across hybrid-cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent.
• 2 to 5 years of hands-on Dynatrace and enterprise observability experience.
• Experience with enterprise-scale APM environments.
• Experience deploying observability for Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
• Incident troubleshooting and runbook creation experience.
• Scripting/automation to streamline configurations and data collection.
• Familiarity with ITSM platforms, especially ServiceNow, for alert routing.
• Strong written and verbal communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage Dynatrace SaaS platform health, including ActiveGates, extensions, access controls, and synthetic monitors.
• Design and validate end-to-end monitoring using OneAgent, RUM, and Smartscape.
• Track telemetry consumption and optimize data growth while keeping coverage.
• Improve alert quality and incident routing; integrate with ServiceNow.
• Perform proactive APM and root cause analysis across multi-tier Azure workloads.
• Correlate data across cloud, network, and on-premises systems; develop automation scripts.
• Create executive dashboards and SLO/KPI reports translating telemetry to business outcomes.
• Provide escalation support for monitoring incidents and coordinate with vendor support.
