Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Software Engineer for the Observability team in NYC. You will design, implement, and maintain Observability products that monitor and explain how applications behave, integrating with the Vercel Platform.

If you’re within commuting distance of SF, NY, London, or Berlin, expect in-office anchor days; otherwise, the role is fully remote. You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and infrastructure teams to craft top-tier solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript/Go and modern frontend development tools.
• Experience with columnar databases (ClickHouse, Tinybird) and large-scale data processing.
• Experience contributing to or participating in open source projects.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks, performance profiling and optimization for web apps.

Responsibilities

• Ingest, store, and process large-scale data from distributed systems.
• Develop cutting-edge visualization tools to provide insights into app behavior and performance.
• Integrate observability features with frontend tools, frameworks, and build systems.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented code with thorough testing for reliability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and infra teams to deliver solutions.
• Engage with open-source projects and communities to support Vercel’s developer-focused mission.
• Collect feedback from developers and users to drive continuous observability improvements.
