Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Observability team. This role helps monitor and understand application health and behavior, with the position based in NYC and remote-friendly for eligible candidates.

You will design, implement, and maintain observability products, ingest and visualize data at scale, and collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to ship reliable, high-quality tooling for developers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript/Go and modern frontend dev tools.
• Strong knowledge of columnar databases such as ClickHouse or Tinybird.
• Experience processing large data with messaging systems or streaming services.
• Experience with open source projects.
• Familiar with frontend frameworks, performance profiling and optimization.
• Proactive, self-driven, with strong communication in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Handle large-scale data ingestion, storage, and processing from distributed systems.
• Develop visualization tools to provide insights into application behavior and performance.
• Integrate observability features with frontend tools and build systems.
• Write clean, well-documented code and ensure platform reliability through testing.
• Collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to solve challenges.
