Job summary

Render seeks an Engineering Manager for Object Storage to lead a team building a scalable storage product on the Render platform. You’ll blend technical leadership with product thinking, partnering with product managers and designers to translate user needs into high-quality, scalable systems.

You’ll guide technical direction, develop engineers, and ensure the team ships meaningful improvements quickly while upholding Render’s high platform standards and developer focus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as an Engineer shipping products or features that impact the business and product ecosystem.
• 2+ years of experience managing people and developing engineers, including hiring and performance management.
• Strong technical background with system design, architecture, and engineering tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of object storage engineers with mentorship and clear guidance.
• Drive execution on key product initiatives from ideation through launch.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Infra to translate customer needs into technical solutions and roadmaps.
• Engage in technical discussions, guiding system design decisions and tradeoffs.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Break down complex problems into incremental milestones delivering value quickly.
• Ensure teams understand developer experience and customer impact of features.
• Collaborate with product management, customers, and internal teams to align priorities and deliver impactful features.
