Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Primary Care Clinic in Orland Park. This 100% onsite role supports patient care under RN/APN/physician supervision and involves vaccines, EKGs, vital signs, and record-keeping.

The successful candidate will have CMA credentials, CPR, phlebotomy experience, and a background in community health. Proficiency in EPIC and Microsoft Office is preferred; work is in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduates CMA credential and eligible for CMA certification.
• Completion of a recognized CMA program with AHA/ARC endorsement.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Know and apply Pride Values and Patient Centered Care principles.
• Perform direct patient care duties as assigned by RN or physician.
• Educate patients and families as delegated.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Perform tests such as urinalysis, pregnancy tests, and hemoccults.
• Document all aspects of patient care per hospital policies.
• Perform phlebotomy services.
• Assist with collection, labeling, and logging of specimens.
