Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Aurora, Colorado is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the OBGYN unit. The role supports physicians and care teams by nursing procedures, patient rooming, medication administration, and patient education.

Ideal candidates hold Colorado LPN licensure, BLS, and have a customer-service orientation. The position may require IV therapy certification and involves working under the Nurse Practice Act guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program and licensure as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in Colorado.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire.
• I.V. therapy certification may be required for some positions.
• Demonstrated customer service focus and exemplary service skills.

Responsibilities

• Complies with Kaiser Permanente quality, safety, and emergency policies and procedures.
• Maintains safe patient care environment and infection control standards.
• Assists physician and medical staff; rooms patients and communicates delays.
• Performs nursing procedures per physician orders and nursing care plan.
• Records patient information in medical charts and documents nursing history and vital signs.
• May orient/train new employees and coordinate activities of nursing staff.
• Manages inventory of department supplies and equipment.
• Provides culturally sensitive service to patients, members, and providers.
