Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support clinic operations under licensed clinicians. This non-exempt, full-time role includes clinical care and clerical duties in a fast-paced office.

You will take vital signs, perform EKGs and phlebotomy, assist in exams, manage patient records, and coordinate with insurers for coverage and authorizations. Sign-on bonus may be available; schedule is Monday–Friday, 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests.
• Assist in injections and routine physical examinations as directed.
• Review lab results and alert physicians to abnormal findings.
• Maintain patient records and assist with office/clinic documentation.
• Process prescriptions and refills per procedure.
• Coordinate with insurers for coverage, prior authorizations and referrals.
