Job summary

Innovative Tech Solutions Inc is seeking an experienced OBD and Safety Diagnostic Calibration Engineer to join our Auburn Hills team. You will develop, calibrate, and validate OBD systems to meet regulatory and OEM standards, supporting ADAS and safety-critical vehicle functions.

You will perform bench, HIL, and vehicle-level testing, analyze DTCs, and collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineers to define diagnostic requirements while ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 and related

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in OBD calibration, safety diagnostics, or automotive embedded systems.
• Proficiency with INCA, CANalyzer, CANoe.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety standards and AUTOSAR architecture.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Develop, calibrate, and validate On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) systems to meet regulatory and OEM standards
• Perform safety diagnostic calibration for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and safety-critical vehicle functions
• Conduct bench, HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), and vehicle-level testing to verify diagnostic functionality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and systems engineers to define diagnostic requirements
• Analyze fault codes, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and calibration data to identify and resolve issues
• Support compliance with OBD-II, ISO 26262, and other applicable automotive safety and emissions standards
• Document calibration processes, test results, and engineering reports for internal and customer deliverables

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in OBD calibration, safety diagnostics, or automotive embedded systems
• Proficiency with calibration tools such as INCA, CANalyzer, CANoe, or equivalent
• Strong understanding of OBD-II protocols, CAN bus communication, and DTC management
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety standards and AUTOSAR architecture
• Experience with HIL testing environments and model-based development (MATLAB/Simulink a plus)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
