Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking an OB Technician to provide clinical and non-clinical support for obstetric patients during night shifts. The role supports registered nurses and physicians with patient care, clerical tasks, and essential operations in the unit.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of a surgical tech program ( CST not required). BLS is required and English fluency is essential for safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Must understand English both written and spoken.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• Surgical technology experience or unit competency as determined by leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care support to OB patients under supervision.
• Assist with clerical tasks, admissions, and record maintenance.
• Assist in surgical procedures and post-procedure care as assigned.
• Transport specimens, phlebotomy, bed control, and turnover duties.
• Support nursing team and newborn/postpartum care activities.
