Job summary

Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) seeks an Obstetrical Support Surgical Technician (OB Tech) to join the Special Delivery Unit. The role works with registered nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia to scrub on OR and LDRP, while also handling clerical tasks as needed to support patient care.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, and graduation from a Surgical Technology program or military training. BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification as Surgical Technologist (preferred: BLS) and ability to communicate professionally in English.
• Experience in operating room environments and labor delivery recovery settings is expected.
• Ability to relate to and coordinate with surgical team during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary scrub person in OR and LDRP on the Special Delivery Unit.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, surgeon and anesthesia team to ensure quality patient care.
• Perform clerical duties as needed and maintain unit workflow.
