Job summary

Advocate Condell Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support obstetrical procedures within the Obstetrics/Gynecology department. The role involves scrubbing for procedures, assisting with deliveries, and patient care duties during day shifts with a 36-hour workweek.

Requires a Nursing Assistant program, and licensure as a Nurse Aide in good standing, plus BLS certification within 6 months. On-call time is required every three weeks and a rotating weekend schedule is in place.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills including keyboarding, Windows navigation, email and EMR systems.
• Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop rapport and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assists with obstetrical procedures including cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries and related surgeries.
• Scrubs for obstetrical procedures and maintains sterile field.
• Assists in delivery procedures and prepares areas per provider preferences.
• Assists in daily living activities and patient care tasks.
• Serves as a training resource for technicians, RNs and others.
• Maintains sterile supplies and equipment readiness for emergencies.
• Communicates patient condition accurately to appropriate staff.
