Job summary

Montefiore Health System is seeking an Obstetrical Technician to join the operating room team. You will scrub and assist with deliveries and obstetric procedures, and provide the necessary instruments and supplies for operations under RN direction.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, supporting patient care, and ensuring the safe preparation and cleanup of the operative suite. A strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a nationally accredited surgical technologist program or military training; CST certification by end of first year.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Scrub person duties and assist with deliveries and OB procedures.
• Prepare and provide sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist in nursing care activities under RN supervision.
• Maintain sterile technique and aseptic practices at all times.
• Set up operating room tables and Mayo stands per procedures.
• Participate in time-out and QA testing for autoclave per policy.
