Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY, is seeking an Obstetrical Technician to support delivery and OB surgical procedures. The role assists with scrubbing, delivering care, and providing equipment and supplies for operations while working under the RN and physician team.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited surgical technologist program.
• Completed a training program for surgical technology in US military or PHS.
• New graduates must obtain surgical technologist certification within 12 months.
• Must hold a certified surgical technologist credential.
• Knowledge of electric powered surgical hand tools and instruments.
• BLS certified.
• Knowledge of PC workstations and basic computer navigation.
• OHS Fit Test or Annual Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Performs the duties of a Scrub person.
• Provides direct care for age-specific patient assignments.
• Maintains sterile technique per asepsis standards 100% of the time.
• Sets up tables and Mayo stands per established procedures.
• Performs QA testing for Autoclave as per Infection Control Policies.
• Maintains orderliness of operative suite and inventory.
