Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technology program or equivalent transition arrangement.
• Registration with the Virginia Board of Medicine as a Surgical Technologist or Surgical Assistant required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the care team to plan patient care and update physician preference cards.
• Prepares Delivery and OR rooms with instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment using aseptic technique.
• Supports the surgical team during obstetrics and gynecology procedures.
• Documents care provided in the electronic medical record.
• Assists with turnover and stocking of rooms; maintains a safe environment.
• Performs patient support duties under RN supervision, including IVs, vital signs, and specimen handling.
• Contributes to infection control and quality improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork; performs other duties as assigned.
