Job summary

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• VIP (Violence Intervention Prevention) within 6 months of employment.
• Successful completion of a surgical technician program.
• Prior surgical technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up sterile field and ensure supplies are ready and accessible.
• Pass instruments safely and efficiently during procedures.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Assist with orientation and training of new staff.
• Maintain equipment and inventory based on PAR levels; notify charge nurse/Director of issues.
• Rotate sterile supplies and ensure sterility of items.
• Maintain OR corridor cleanliness and transport patients as needed.
