Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ, is seeking a day shift, full-time Labor and Delivery Certified Surgical Tech (CST). The role supports patient care during surgical procedures and collaborates with RNs to maintain sterile technique and efficient OB services.

You will scrub, assist with circulating duties, help with instrument handling, cleaning, and device readiness, and may serve as a preceptor or instrument room liaison.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (or eligible per NJ Surgical Technology Certification law in effect as of 12/21/2011).
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Good knowledge and understanding of patient flow through L&D.
• Instrument handling, cleaning, OR circulation for OB

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care and preparation of surgical patients by performing routine and delegated duties according to policies.
• Perform scrub duties and related procedures.
• Assist with circulating duties under the direct supervision of the RN circulator.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of supplies and equipment as required.
• Function in the advanced roles of preceptor, service specialist, and instrument room liaison.
