Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an OB Technician to support maternity services in the hospital. Responsibilities include scrub duties in the Maternity OR, direct patient care, and ensuring safe outcomes through clinical judgment and teamwork.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma, BLS/CPR certification, and certification as a surgical technician or OB Tech. Experience in acute care is preferred, with a focus on patient safety and collaborative care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• BLS/CPR certification is required.
• Applicant must be a certified surgical technician, or certified OB Tech.
• Previous or Active OB Technician work experiences in the Acute Care Setting is desired.
• Scrub Technician work experiences in the Acute Care Setting is preferred.
• One year of hospital PCT experience highly preferred.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, strong accountability, teamwork and ongoing education are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age-related criteria and safety.
• Work as Scrub technician in the Maternity OR for OB cases.
• Ensure safe patient outcomes through prudent judgment and action.
• Communicate with patients, nursing staff and care team about patient status.
• Take initiative to exceed expectations and improve job performance.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning from admission to discharge.
• Participate in Unit/Department PI activities.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

BLS/CPR certification

Certified OB Tech or Surgical Technician

OB Technician experience in Acute Care

Scrub Technician experience in Acute Care

Hospital PCT experience
