Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an OB Technician for our maternity services. You will provide patient care across age groups, scrub in the Maternity OR for OB cases, and support safe outcomes through clinical judgment and teamwork.

The role emphasizes proactive communication with the care team and patients, collaboration in care planning, and ongoing professional development within a supportive health system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• BLS/CPR certification is required.
• Applicant must be a certified surgical technician, or certified OB Tech.
• Previous or Active OB Technician work experiences in the Acute Care Setting is desired.
• Scrub Technician work experiences in the Acute Care Setting is preferred.
• One year of hospital PCT experience highly preferred.
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability, teamwork, and ongoing education are required.

Responsibilities

• Providing patient care based on criteria appropriate to the age of guests/patients served.
• Working as Scrub technician in the Maternity OR for OB cases.
• Ensuring safe patient outcomes through judgment and action.
• Maintaining ongoing communication with patients and health care team.
• Taking initiative to improve performance and create opportunities.
• Participating in interdisciplinary care planning from admission to discharge.
• Participating in Unit/Department PI activities.
