Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center in Maryland seeks a Surgical Technologist to support obstetric surgery and patient care in Labor & Delivery. You will work under RN or physician supervision, assisting with procedures, prepping sterile fields and maintaining aseptic technique.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited surgical technology program, and relevant training (CNA or PCT). CPR certification within 90 days is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology training program required.
• CNA or PCT training program completion required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with obstetric and gynecological procedures, maintaining aseptic technique.
• Set up sterile equipment and assist with room turnover and sterilization.
• Collect specimens, perform venipuncture and basic bedside tasks under supervision.
• Assist with ADLs and monitor patient condition, communicating changes to staff.
• Prepare patients for exams, support treatments and maintain environmental cleanliness.
