Sentara Health is hiring an OB GYN Ultrasound Technician/Medical Sonographer in Harrisonburg, VA.

Job Description

Conduct general diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies of patients within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician. Responsibilities include scanning patients for correct anatomy/pathology, operating sonography equipment, operating electronic radiology systems, preparing patient rooms/equipment/medications, maintaining supply inventory, explaining examination and procedure to patients, completing departmental documentation, and competent use and logging of infection control equipment.

Education

• HS Diploma or equivalency (required)
• Associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field (preferred)

Certification / Licensure

• Completion of a training program acceptable to relevant registry board, ARRT, or ARDMS (required)
• Registered ARRT or ARDMS required upon hire for ACR-accredited sites (required)
• For ICAVL-accredited sites, candidates not yet credentialed may be hired as provisional technical staff, must work under direct supervision of a credentialed vascular/general sonographer, and must obtain the appropriate vascular/general sonography credential within two years of the start date of training (required)
