Job summary

Mercy Health in Richmond, VA is seeking a skilled ultrasound technologist specializing in obstetric, fetal, and gynecologic imaging. You will perform detailed OB/GYN studies, document comprehensive images, and assist physicians with invasive procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The role requires 2+ years of OB/GYN ultrasound experience, ARRT-registered or ARDMS-certified credentials, and strong communication skills to support patients through potentially stressful exams.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience with pelvic and endovaginal ultrasound and fetal assessments.
• Experience with first trimester nuchal translucency and second trimester fetal anatomy scans.
• Excellent patient communication in stressful settings.

Responsibilities

• Performs obstetric, fetal, and gynecologic ultrasounds to detect anomalies and assess anatomy per standards.
• Captures and documents appropriate images for accurate reporting.
• Assists physicians in invasive procedures as needed.
• Performs fetal monitoring tests as indicated.
• Educates and supports patients and families in anxious situations.
• Maintains ASRT practice standards and AIUM accreditation.
• Demonstrates proficiency with radiology systems and hospital IT.
